Common use
Daliresp is used to reduce the risk of COPD exacerbations in patients with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease associated with chronic bronchitis. Roflumilast is a phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE4) inhibitor that works by decreasing inflammation in the lungs.
Dosage and direction
Take Daliresp orally once daily, with or without food, as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with water, and take it at the same time each day for best results.
Precautions
Inform your doctor if you have liver disease, depression, or a history of mental health conditions. Weight loss and mood changes may occur during treatment, and regular monitoring is recommended.
Contraindications
Do not use Daliresp if you have moderate to severe liver impairment. It is not intended for use during acute COPD attacks or in people allergic to Roflumilast.
Possible side effect
Common side effects include diarrhea, nausea, weight loss, headache, and insomnia. Rare but serious side effects may involve mood changes, depression, or suicidal thoughts.
Drug interaction
Roflumilast may interact with CYP3A4 inhibitors or inducers, such as rifampin, ketoconazole, and certain anticonvulsants. Always inform your doctor about all medications and supplements you are taking.
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it's nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one—do not double up.
Overdose
Symptoms of overdose may include severe nausea, vomiting, or mental/mood changes. In such cases, seek emergency medical assistance immediately.
Storage
Store Daliresp at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. Keep the tablets in their original container and out of reach of children.
