Common use

Rivaroxaban is prescribed to prevent stroke and systemic embolism in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation, to treat and prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), and to reduce the risk of recurrent clot formation. It is also used to prevent venous thromboembolism (VTE) in patients undergoing hip or knee replacement surgery.

Dosage and direction

Rivasmart is taken orally in tablet form. The tablets should be swallowed whole with water and not crushed or chewed. It may be taken with or without food, depending on the prescribed dose. Follow the dosing schedule provided by your healthcare provider and do not change the dose without medical guidance.

Precautions

Before using Rivasmart, inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, active bleeding, recent surgery, bleeding disorders, or conditions that increase bleeding risk. Because the medication reduces the blood’s ability to clot, caution is needed with injuries or medical procedures. Avoid combining it with other medications that increase bleeding risk unless approved by a doctor.

Contraindications

Rivasmart should not be used in individuals with active pathological bleeding, severe liver disease related to coagulation disorders, or known hypersensitivity to rivaroxaban or any of its components.

Possible side effect

Common side effects include bruising, minor bleeding, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, headaches, dizziness, and stomach discomfort. Serious side effects may include severe or uncontrolled bleeding, blood in urine or stool, vomiting blood, or signs of internal hemorrhage. Seek immediate medical attention if serious symptoms occur.

Drug interaction

Rivasmart may interact with other anticoagulants, antiplatelet drugs, NSAIDs, certain blood pressure medications, and drugs affecting liver metabolism. Always inform your doctor about all medications, supplements, and herbal products you are taking.

Missed dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember on the same day. Do not take two doses at once. Resume with the regular schedule.

Overdose

Overdose may cause excessive or prolonged bleeding, which can be dangerous. Immediate medical attention is required in case of suspected overdose.

Storage

Store Rivasmart at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. Keep the tablets in their original packaging and out of reach of children and pets.
